# Corrections, Supersessions, and Research Discipline > This file exists so neither humans nor AI systems mistake the archive's development history for a claim that every earlier formulation remains current. ## Canonical rule Use `current-verdict.md`, `claims.md`, and the current showcase pages for the present position. Earlier runs remain preserved for provenance. ## Important examples of correction discipline - The project distinguishes **strict Old Avestan/Gathic evidence** from later Zoroastrian developments rather than projecting the whole later system backward. - Elephantine is treated as an identity control: Mazda and YHW were not simply the same Achaemenid cultic identity. - Candidate testing strengthened the best YHWH and Qumran comparators rather than assuming Mazda would win every mature-profile axis. - External scoring is described according to the actual recognition conditions of the raters; the archive retains methodology caveats. - Daniel's c. 165 BCE dating is separated from the dossier's stronger moral conclusion that the pseudepigraphic predictive pose constitutes intentional deception. ## Why this matters A correction is evidence that the archive can revise itself. A superseded historical page should not be quoted as the project's current verdict when a later canonical statement exists.
